ENThe Greater transformation
From office to living is a major operation. In the case of The Mayor we can speak of renovation. The existing office building has been completely tripped down to the constructive level. All installations have been replaced and the apartments have been rebuilt from the existing construction. All facades and windows are new according to the latest building regulations and the most modern standards regarding durability and insulation. The screeds have been newly poured with, of course, comfortable underfloor heating throughout the house. All piping has been newly installed, including modern switchgear. The walls are delivered sauce ready. The ceiling has white paintwork. The roofs have been completely rebuilt and insulated according to current requirements. The entire outdoor area, including the inner gardens, have also been thoroughly renovated. The original building already had a natural appearance and design from its anthroposophical foundation. This is still recognizable in the layout of the site. No cars in sight and plenty of space for greenery, walking and cycling. Soon when the park bridge towards the center is ready, the outside area will form a whole and will literally leave the motorway under itself.

The Mayor consists of 8 building parts: A to J† The rental apartments are located in the high-rise buildings: J, F and C and in the lower buildings: H and E.
In 2022 the buildings H en J delivered. These buildings are fully let.
Construction started in Q2 of 2023 C, E and F delivered. Building F was the first to be delivered in April 2023. Building E followed in July 2023 and building C was delivered on November 16, 2023.
The contractor will ensure safety in the entire area during the construction activities and will try to keep nuisance to a minimum. After the completion of building J and H, construction activities will take place on the other parts of the building. The outside area in front of buildings J and H is ready upon delivery and access to the home and parking garage is guaranteed.
The Greater Park
In the coming years, the A9 motorway will be placed in a sunken box in order to hide all traffic activities from view as much as possible and to reduce noise to a minimum. A roof will be placed in a number of places and the municipality will build a park on top of this roof.
At the height of the middle of The Mayor, a canopy with a park will be realized. This will be connected to the green area around The Mayor so that a continuous landscape is created. The plan for the park even includes space for a pond.
A walking path runs through the park and reached via the bicycle path, a direct connection is created with the shopping heart and center of Amstelveen.

Living in The Mayor goes beyond the building. The Mayor's team is active in and around the buildings almost every day to guarantee comfortable and comfortable living. They keep an eye on things, are the first point of contact for residents and resolve technical defects in and around the residential building before the residents notice them. Of course you can also walk by for a cup of coffee, or to pick up a postal package. In addition to this offline presence, there will be an online platform, which among other things serves as a communication tool between and to residents and on which various convenience services can be booked, such as a dry cleaning service or a professional cleaner.
